The Cabinet Member for Parks, Highways & Transport Services has considered a report outlining the background to the provision of bereavement services in Stockport including current cost pressures and a comparative analysis of charges against other local authorities, and has then given approval to the increase of cremation charges to £1,095 and for other burial and bereavement services by 5%.

Alternative options considered

To not levy any increase in fees and charges, however this proposal would not serve to support the business aims and objectives of the authority as outlined in the report.
