Decision

The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from Reddish Vale High School - Parent Partnership Community for Ward Flexibility Funding for a grant of £300 (Brinnington & Stockport Central Ward allocation) towards the cost of improving the outdoor area where a ‘Colour Run’ event would be hosted. This was a non-competitive 2K run where participants of all ages would be splashed with vibrant colours at various checkpoints along the route. The event encouraged physical activity and strengthened community ties whilst simultaneously raising funds for vital school enhancements.

Alternative options considered

The Area Committee considered the application as submitted. At the meeting, the applicant requested a change to the purpose of the grant funding, proposing that it be used to improve the outdoor area for the event instead of funding the event itself.
