The Area Committee has given approval to an application received from the Marple & District Allotment Association for an increased grant of £1,500 from the Delegated Ward Budget (Marple North Ward allocation only) towards the cost of creating an accessible allotment growing area for people with disabilities, wheelchair users, learning difficulties and mental health conditions.

Alternative options considered

To fund the proposed scheme from the Ward Flexibility Funding Budget, however this was discounted on the grounds of the amount requested of £1,000 and the funds being used to create an accessible allotment.
