Purpose
To seek approval to take forward the recommendations set out in the City Centre Masterplan and Delivery Plan
Decision
Agreed (i) – Cabinet approves the City Centre Masterplan and Delivery Plan documents.
Agreed (ii) – Cabinet agrees in principle to the establishment of an Urban Development Corporation for Hanley City Centre to take forward the City Centre Masterplan and Delivery Plan, on the basis that Cabinet will receive a more detailed report in early 2027 on the legal and financial framework required for an Urban Development Corporation (UDC)
Agreed (iii) – Cabinet delegates authority to the Corporate Director of Housing, Regeneration and Operations, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Transport, Infrastructure, Planning and Regeneration, to:
· Commence discussions with Government regarding appropriate delivery vehicles, including the commissioning of the production of a Business Case if required.
· Develop any funding and related other proposals and submit to Government departments and other funding agencies as may be appropriate.
· approve all actions necessary to begin to implement the recommendations set out within the Masterplan and Delivery Plan documents, in line with delegation levels.
