About
The Audit and Standards Committee oversees local democracy, ensuring effective, transparent, and accountable decision-making by Stratford-on-Avon District Council. It also manages elections and keeps the Council's Constitution current.
The committee is responsible for governance, standards, and audit matters. This includes monitoring complaints, promoting high standards of conduct among councillors, reviewing the Council's Constitution for probity, approving annual accounts, assessing risk management, and considering external audit reports. When dealing with standards, the committee includes two parish councillors and is advised by Independent Persons appointed under the Localism Act 2011.
