That the Council will grant the lease to Listers Group Ltd.

Reasons for the decision

The land is the former Stratford upon Avon Town Football Club site and has been held, since the club relocated, for future use as part of the Canal Quarter development project.

The lease expires on 11.07.2026 and currently the land is not yet ready for bringing forward for the project.  In the interim its use for a lease for vehicle storage ensures the risk to SDC is mitigated and also, a commercial income is received.  The proposed renewal of the lease is for five years on full repairing and insuring terms, with rent reviews and with a right for either party to break the lease on giving six months notice. 

The lease will be drafted by Legal Services and the terms have been agreed, on behalf of the Council, by Bruton Knowles.
