To provide 2 No. dug out shelters for Southam United Football Club.

Reasons for the decision

Southam United Football Club are a valued community organisation supporting the people of Southam and the surrounding area. After a troubled period in their recent history, the club are looking to return to playing competitive league football which should be a catalyst for improving the sustainability of the club. An FA requirement for doing this is having covered dugouts and this was identified at a recent ground inspection. Southam United are not currently in a position where they can fund this. By providing the dugout shelters SDC will be contributing to the community and improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of those enjoying football at Southam.

Alternative options considered

1. To support the funding of the dugout shelters;
2. To refuse the application for funding of the dugout shelters; or
3. To provide an alternative level of funding.
