Approval of updates to current published version of the SAN (November 2025).

Reasons for the decision

As detailed in the Change Log (August 2026) plus further factual changes consequent upon publication of the revised NPPF (August 2026).

Alternative options considered

1.   Publish revised SAN as recommended. This will ensure SAN remains relevant and up to date, aiding service delivery and efficiency. This option is therefore recommended.

2.   Leave current published SAN unchanged. Elements of the existing SAN are out-of-date or coverage of new issues is considered necessary. Failure to update would lead to operational inefficiencies and risk reputational harm. This option is therefore NOT recommended.
