Purpose
To avail of the funding opportunity, in line
with the previously agreed strategy, assisting the transition of
Ubico fleet to low carbon vehicles.
Due to the acceptance timeline set by the DfT, the decision to
accept the grant has been approved by the Chair of Environment
Committee in advance of the next meeting. The officer decision will
be retrospectively reported to the committee, at this time.
Decision
To enter in to an agreement with the
Department for Transport (DfT), accepting the terms of a Depot
Charging Scheme Grant, to increase the number of EV chargers at the
Gossington Depot.
Reasons for the decision
The Depot Charging Scheme is a targeted
capital grant programme designed to accelerate the decarbonisation
of
commercial fleets across the UK.
Its primary objective is to support the uptake of zero-emission
vehicles by part-funding the installation of electric vehicle (EV)
charging infrastructure at fleet depots.
Eligible expenditure includes the purchase of charge points and the
costs of installation and energisation, including civil
engineering works, electrical components, and contractor
