Purpose

To enable the council to deliver modernisation works to this scheme it needs to enter into a contract with a construction company. The contractor has been awarded the contract further to procurement for this phase of the programme via the Westworks DPS in 2022. The terms of this procurement allows for further direct awards to be made. This is the final direct award to be within this contract.

Decision

To award a contract of £267,508 for the Independent Living Scheme Modernisation Works at St. Nicholas Court, Hardwicke to E.W. Beard Ltd.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - to undertake a further procurement exercise. E.W. Beards performance through the contract has been monitored via Key Performance Indicators . All KPI's continue to be highly scored . The council's employer's agent has issued a formal tender report which confirms this to be a competitively priced tender.
Option 2 - not to proceed with the modernisation works. This programme has been approved by Housing Committee, is nearing completion and is part of the Council Plan
