Appointments Sub Committee

The Appointments Sub Committee is responsible for the recruitment and appointment of senior council officers. It interviews and shortlists candidates for roles such as Chief Executive, Strategic Director, and Head of Service, making recommendations to the full Council for final approval. The committee also appoints staff to acting-up positions within these senior roles and recommends the appointment of key statutory officers like the Head of Paid Service and Monitoring Officer. Additionally, it interviews applicants for the Independent Person role, as required by the Localism Act 2011.
