About

The Joint Waste Collection Services Committee is responsible for improving the quality and effectiveness of waste collection, management, and disposal functions for Elmbridge Borough Council, Mole Valley District Council, Surrey Heath Borough Council, and Woking Borough Council. It manages the Joint Contract for these services and works with Surrey County Council to integrate waste disposal.

The committee's decisions are subject to certain limitations, including not breaching existing contracts and respecting reserved matters such as individual authorities' budgets and major service changes with financial impacts beyond the Joint Contract. Decisions can be called in by scrutiny committees of the constituent authorities for review and recommendation.
