About

The Scrutiny Programme Committee coordinates the work of councillors who are not part of the Cabinet. Its role is to act as a 'critical friend' to the Council's Executive and other decision-makers, aiming to improve services, policies, and decisions. This committee oversees the work of all Council departments and other public services, holding the Executive to account in a manner similar to parliamentary select committees.
