Purpose
This report provides an overview of roadworks management, via the existing Greater Manchester Road Activities Permit Scheme(GMRAPS), as well as an overview of proposals for a Lane Rental scheme and anticipated benefits, such as reduced congestion pressure and overall improved network performance. The report also considers the possible implications of a Greater Manchester Lane Rental scheme on the delivery of Tameside Council’s approved Highways Asset Management Plan (HAMP).
Decision
RESOLVED
(i) That the contents of the report be noted.
(ii) That Tameside Council’s participation in the Greater Manchester–wide Lane Rental consultation led by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) be Approved.
(iii) That further report be brought back to Cabinet to determine whether the GM proposals will be adopted by Tameside on conclusion of the consultation
