Purpose

This report proposes the acceptance of funding of up to £38,500 towards eligible expenditure as a delivery partner in Build a Business in GM Libraries 2025-26.  Build a Business is a GMCA funded project delivered by the 10 Greater Manchester Library Services, led by Manchester City Council.

Decision

(i)                  That the offer of up to £38,500 towards eligible expenditure as a delivery partner in Build a Business be accepted.

(ii)               That the terms and conditions of the relevant grant agreement be accepted.

Reasons for the decision

A decision is required to formally accept the offer of a grant of up to £38,500 for Tameside Libraries participation as a delivery partner in this project from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. 

Alternative options considered

Not to accept the funding and cover the cost of staff member via core budget.
