Purpose

To enable works to be executed on or near the public highway ensuring safety of the general public as described in the Public Notice, (Appendix 1).

Decision

That Approval is given to advertise the public notice as set out in (Appendix 1), following the statutory process.

That approval be given for the legal order (Appendix 2) be sealed to enable the highway to be closed. 

Reasons for the decision

To ensure the works are completed safely and efficiently to protect the public and disruption on the network. 

Alternative options considered

If the road is not closed to undertake these activities the works will not be able to be undertaken in a safe and controlled manner.
