Purpose
Permission is sought to allow the legal process of introducing a Prohibition of Waiting Order at Norman Road, Stalybridge to commence.
Decision
(i) That approval be given under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to advertise a Prohibition of Waiting Order at Norman Road, Stalybridge.
(ii) Any unresolved objections will be reported at a future Speakers Panel (Planning) meeting. If the proposals to introduce waiting restrictions are subsequently approved, then a legal Order will be made to reflect the decision.
Reasons for the decision
To prevent obstructive parking in the cul-de-sac end of Norman Road, Stalybridge.
Alternative options considered
If the report is not approved, the legal process to introduce waiting restrictions at this location cannot commence, obstructive parking will continue to occur in the cul-de-sac end of Norman Road and there will be an increased likelihood of damage to private property caused by vehicle turning manoeuvres.
