Purpose

To enable works to be executed on or near the public highway ensuring safety of the general public as described in the Public Notice, (Appendix 1).

Decision

That approval be given to advertise the public notice as set out in (Appendix 1), following the statutory process.

To be given approval that the legal order (Appendix 2) be sealed to enable the highways to be closed

Reasons for the decision

To ensure the optimum safety of the general public, motorists and participants during the ‘Tour de Manc’ 2026.

Alternative options considered

If the legal notice is not advertised and the order is not sealed, the event will not be able to continue as proposed.
