Purpose
The report set out the purpose of SENDIASS and the statutory duty the local authority has in ensuring that this is delivered.
The report presented the current position the local authority is in respect of the current SENDIAS Service.
The report set out what the future options and recommendations are for this service.
Decision
(i) An extension of this contract has been agreed by Director of Children services till 31 March 2027.
(ii) Option 3 is given approval and the service is brought in house.
Reasons for the decision
SENDIASS is currently an externally provided service, however agreement was given to bring the function inhouse to deliver alongside Family Help and SEND services to create an integrated model of support.
Alternative options considered
Option 1 - Do nothing.
Option 2 – Retender the service through an open tender exercise with STAR Procurement.
