Purpose

The report provided an update on progress made to develop and deliver a prioritised Highway Safety Programme following the report presented at the Executive Cabinet meeting on the22 November 2023 and subsequent reports detailing individual schemes submitted for statutory Traffic Regulation Order approval

Decision

 RESOLVED

(i)                 That the status and progress of the Highway Safety Programme to date set out in Section 2 and Appendix A be Noted.

(ii)               Approval be given to the progression to design and development of the next 11 prioritised schemes within the Highway Safety Programme, as identified in Appendix B.

(iii)             That authority be delegated to the Strategic Director of Housing Environment and Estates in consultation with the Executive Member for Towns Transport and Connectivity, to consider individual scheme proposals, detailed cost estimates and approve implementation and the start of any statutory Traffic Regulation Order processes.'

(iv)             Approval be given to the award of a contract to Metis Consultants Limited, in the sum of £145,409 (net) following a procurement exercise, undertaken by STaR to support the design process.

(v)               To support continued consultation and engagement with ward members, residents, emergency services and other key stakeholders throughout the scheme development process.
