Purpose
To seek approval for the award of two contracts following a procurement process for servicing and maintenance of lifting equipment and the supply and installation of lifting and hoisting equipment
Decision
That it be DETERMINED that:
- Following the evaluation of tender submission carried out by Oldham Council for the supply and installations of lifting and hoisting equipment, the contracts were awarded to:
· Lot 1 - Provision of Straight and Curved Track Stair Lifts - Handicare Accessibility Limited
· Lot 2 - Provision of Ceiling Track Hoists and freestanding Gantry Hoists - Hoist and Shower Chair Company Limited
· Lot 3 - Provision of Through Floor Lifts and internal/ external Step & Platform Lifts - Wessex Lifts Limited
Using the delegated authority given in the report dated 25 January 2023 it is recommended to approve a call off contract with these providers.
- Following the evaluation of tender submission, for the procurement of a new Service and Maintenance Contract, using the delegated authority given in the report dated 25 January 2023 it is recommended to approve the award of a contract to the highest ranking and most economically advantageous provider namely City Lift Services (NW) Ltd.
Reasons for the decision
This means the Tameside Council can continue to deliver and meet its duty around:
1. The supply and installations of lifting and hoisting equipment with a lifetime guarantee using Disabled Facilities Grant funding.
2. The service and maintenance for old lifting and hoisting equipment to ensure equipment meets the needs of the resident and is safe to use.
