Purpose

On 23 March 2022 Executive Cabinet approved the Council’s Fleet Replacement Strategy.  Over 50% of the council’s fleet have reached or nearly reached the end of its economic life.  This is impacting on the delivery of frontline services to residents and increasing costs.  £17.5m prudential capital borrowing has been approved to enable these vehicles to be replaced.  The report details the procurement programme split into three phases.  The estimated cost of replacement is £17.2m, which is within the capital budget envelope.
