Purpose

Permission is sought to allow the legal process of extending the existing no waiting at any time restrictions along Park Road, Stalybridge from the junction of Sandy Lane, Dukinfield to commence. 

Decision

RESOLVED

(i)                 Permission be given under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to advertise a Prohibition of Waiting Order at Park Road, Stalybridge.

(ii)               Any unresolved objections be reported at a future Speakers Panel (Planning) meeting.  If the proposals to introduce waiting restrictions are subsequently approved, then a legal Order will be made to reflect the decision.

Alternative options considered

If the report is not approved, the legal process to introduce waiting restrictions at this location cannot commence.  Obstructive parking along Park Road will continue to occur, thereby retaining an unnecessary element of danger to pedestrians.
