Purpose

To approve terms for the surrender of the lease to the Council of part of Dekko House

Decision

That it be DETERMINED that:

1. The Council surrender to the landlord their leasehold interest of the ground and first floor of former Barcrest Building, Margaret Street, Ashton-under Lyne, OL7 0QQ.
2. A payment of £77,250 plus VAT to be made by the Council to the landlord as full and final settlement of any sums owed (except for dilapidations which will be the subject of a separate report and payment)

Reasons for the decision

The leased property is vacant and surplus to the council’s requirements, all staff have relocated to alternative premises. The lease is to be surrendered early to return the property to the landlord to reduce the council’s occupational costs.
