Purpose

This report sought approval of the Department for Transport (DfT) Transparency Report.  Approval facilitated compliance with DfT transparency requirements through submission of the report to the DfT and publication on the Council’s website by 10 September 2026. 

Decision

RESOLVED

(i)                  That the attached DfT Transparency Report at Appendix 1 (named core report and technical annex) be approved for submission to the DfT in accordance with national reporting requirements.

(ii)                That the approved report be published on the Council’s highway maintenance website by the deadline date of 10 September 2026 to ensure compliance with transparency obligations.

Reasons for the decision

Approval is required to enable Tameside Council to fulfil its reporting and transparency obligations under Department for Transport (DfT) requirements.
