Purpose

This report seeks approval of the Council's new Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Housing Policy. The policy establishes a clear framework for how the Council will respond to domestic abuse, support victims and survivors, safeguard vulnerable residents, and work with partner agencies to prevent harm and improve outcomes.

Decision

R E S O L V E D – that:

A. Approve the Domestic Abuse Housing Policy attached as Appendix A.

B. Authorise the Extended Management Team to make minor administrative, legislative and operational amendments to the policy where these do not materially alter its intent or objectives.

C. Agree that the policy will be reviewed every three years, or sooner if required by

legislative, regulatory or operational changes.
