Purpose

The Council has developed a new Housing Repairs, Maintenance and Improvements Policy which consolidates its approach to responsive repairs, planned maintenance, statutory compliance and tenant responsibilities within a single document. This report seeks it’s approval.

Decision

R E S O L V E D – that

A. Approve the Housing Repairs, Maintenance and Improvements Policy 2026.

B. Authorise the Head of Housing, in consultation with the Chair of Housing Committee, to make minor administrative, legislative and procedural amendments to the policy between formal reviews.

C. Note that the policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if required by changes in

legislation, regulation or operational requirements.
