About

The Environment Scrutiny Committee examines and monitors issues related to the environment, ecology, and the natural and built environment within Telford and Wrekin. Its responsibilities include sustainable planning, building conservation, waste management, environmental maintenance, and local infrastructure such as transport, drainage, and lighting. The committee also oversees public transport, rights of way, the highways network, local nature reserves, parks, and green spaces. As the designated scrutiny body for Flood and Water Management under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, it provides oversight and recommendations on these critical areas.
