About
The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for Tewkesbury Borough Council Members and assists them in observing the Code of Conduct. It determines applications for dispensation, prepares and reviews Codes and Protocols, and considers reports on the number of complaints received.
The committee can establish a Hearings Sub-Committee to hear cases of alleged breaches of the Member Code of Conduct, including those involving Parish/Town Councillors and co-opted members. Three independent persons and three parish council representatives act in an advisory capacity.
