Revision to Resident Involvement Expenses and Incentive Policy
January 28, 2025 Head of Tenant and Leaseholder Services (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Decision
A revision has been made to the Resident
Involvement Expenses and Incentive Policy so that the policy
applies to people who live in Thanet District Council (TDC) social
housing stock who engage with the Council.
Reasons for the decision
This enables all residents living in
TDC’s social housing to be reimbursed for eligible expenses
when engaging in resident involvement activities arranged by TLS.
Previously, the policy only applied to
tenants and leaseholders.
This enables the Council to engage all
residents living in its properties, to increase engagement and gain
valuable insight to monitor and influence housing services.
This ensures that the Council are compliant
with current regulations and the Consumer Standards.
Alternative options considered
Do nothing -leave the policy as is.
The regulations tells the Council that it must
provide a wide opportunity for residents to engage with it. By not
offering to reimburse expenses to all residents this may prohibit
their ability to do this.
