Purpose

The council is committed to
ensuring that services are inclusive and do not discriminate
against anyone with a protected characteristic. There are legal
obligations placed upon the organisation to ensure that this duty
is met as part of the Equality Act 2010.
 
To enhance the council’s
approach to considering our obligations as part of the Equality Act
2010, the Council Leader has called for a new Equalities Cabinet
Advisory Group to be established.

To set up an Equalities Cabinet
Advisory Group in line with the terms of reference and membership
set out in Annex 1 to the report.
