Purpose

The existing pavilion building
at Jackey Bakers Recreation Ground is dilapidated, presents a
health and safety hazard and is beyond economical repair. It is
currently fenced off to prevent unforced access to the perimeter of
the building. Jackey Bakers Recreation Ground is a key location in
the district for football facilities. Changing facilities are
essential for the continuation of various football tournaments and
training.

Decision

Cabinet agreed the following:
 
1. 
To approve the key decision to award a contract with a value in
excess of £250,000 to demolish the existing pavilion at
Jackey Bakers Recreation Ground and erect a temporary portacabin
style changing facility to the successful bidder, following a
procurement exercise;
 
2. 
To delegate authority to the Director of Environment to agree the
final terms and sign the contract with the successful bidder.
