Decision

Consideration was given to the recommendations of the Finance, Regeneration and Property Scrutiny Select Committee in respect of the recent review of the Council’s Corporate Debt Recovery Policy. 

Due regard was given to the views of the Scrutiny Select Committee, the financial and value for money considerations, the legal implications and the assessment of risk.

In recognition that economic, efficient and effective debt recovery procedures were an important element of good financial management, Councillor Coffin (Chair) proposed, Councillor Betts seconded and Cabinet

RESOLVED: That

(1)        the Corporate Debt Recovery Policy, as set out at Annex 1 to the report, be approved for publication on the Council’s website; and

(2)        a further report on the recovery of temporary accommodation rent arrears (Homelessness) be presented to the Finance, Regeneration and Property Scrutiny Select Committee before being submitted to Cabinet for decision.
