? Schools catering and breakfast club staff
have received a training hours allowance equating to 2 weeks of
their normal working pattern hours since the single status/job
evaluation review in 2009.

? In 2023/2024, following the introduction of Universal Free School
Meals (UFSM), most catering staff have increased their hours of
work and subsequent training hours allowance.

? The number of hours allowed in many cases now exceeds the amount
required for training.

? A range of options was developed to address that situation, and
staff/unions were consulted on those options.

? It is proposed that Option 4 is now implemented - ‘Keep the
current lunchtime contracted training hours but lose the breakfast
club training hours’.
