Approval from the Executive Member for
Economy, Skills & Regeneration for the commencement of a
project to re-site the statue with an expected completion date of
summer 2024, subject to the relevant ground investigations, the
re-siting of the statue to the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre to
mitigate the risk of vandalism. The allocation of £50,000
funding that was set aside in the Town Centre enhancements fund for
the potential relocation to this project subject to the successful
reinstallation of the statue, the statue being brought into the
Borough’s ownership and placed on the asset register.
