ii. Officer X is eligible for consideration under the Council’s current scheme, or equally could fully retire as they are over the age of 55.
iii. Flexible retirements would avoid the sudden loss of experience and specialist knowledge of officer X. There is therefore an advantage to the Council to consider this request favourably.
iv. The implications of this request have been carefully considered and proposals developed that would allow the request to be agreed whilst safeguarding the interests of the Council and the Pension Fund. This includes: -

a. A reduction in hours for Officer X from their current 37 hours per week to 30 hours per week.
b. The naming and functions of the post to remain.
c. The change, if agreed, to be implemented from 1st October 2024.
