Purpose

The Local Plan
is the primary planning policy document for the borough and is
currently being revised to reflect changing
circumstances.

The next recommended stage of the Local Plan process is to
submit the plan to the Secretary of State for examination in
public.

DECISION
 

1.    
Agrees that the ‘Draft New Local Plan’ proceeds
to the Wednesday 19 November 2025 meeting of Full Council for
approval of submission to the Secretary of State.

Reasons for the decision

The Local Plan
forms part of the Budget and Policy Framework and therefore the
decision to submit to the Secretary of State to commence
Examination in Public is to be taken by Full Council, in line with
the Council’s constitution.

Alternative options considered

The Mayor in
Cabinet could decide for officers to make changes to the
plan.
