Purpose

Complaints have been received that parking on existing single
yellow lines (No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm) reducing
visibility on Mercury Way which is leading to concerns for
pedestrian safety at the junction.
 
Concern has also been raised that heavy goods vehicles are being
parked on the Mercury Park estate and that the works on the nearby
Event City development have the potential to increase parking
demand in the area.
 
To
improve visibility and pedestrian amenity around the junction it is
proposed to introduce No Waiting At Any Time restrictions in place
of the existing restrictions.

proposals are shown on drawing number
CO00201659-MW-01.
 

Decision

1.   
That, following careful
consideration of the informal comments received, authorisation be
given to advertise the intention to introduce the Traffic
Regulation Order as detailed in the Schedules to this report and
that, if no objections are maintained, the Order be made and
implemented in part, as indicated below, as soon as is
practicable.
 

2.   
That any objections maintained be reported for
consideration.
