Decision

1.         
That the report, the public interest report dated 18
December 2024, as appended and the recommendations made by the
Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, be noted.

 
2.         
That the action the Council has agreed to take to
remedy the injustice from the fault identified, be
noted.
 
3.         
That the actions taken by the Council to improve the
timeliness of its decision making and provide education to children
who cannot go to school, and the Local Government and Social Care
Ombudsman’s acknowledgement of the Council’s efforts
and commitment in this regard, be noted.
 
4.         
That the further actions the Council intends to take
to enhance the improvements that have already been made, be
noted.
 
5.         
That the report be adopted as the Council’s
formal response under section 31 of the Local Government Act 1974
to be provided to the Local Government and Social Care
Ombudsman.
 
6.         
That the report be adopted as the Executive’s
formal response as required by section 5A of the Local Government
and Housing Act 1989 for distribution to all Members and the
Monitoring Officer.
