Delamere Avenue / Moss Road Area, Stretford - Proposed Waiting Restrictions
May 1, 2025 Corporate Director Place (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Historically, requests have been received by the Council and
Ward Members showing concern regarding inconsiderate and dangerous
parking on Delamere Avenue and surrounding roads. Having considered
various measures, in 2018 it was agreed to carry out an informal
consultation to gauge the overall level of support to develop and
implement a scheme. The feedback from the informal consultation
showed support for a Residents Permit Parking scheme. In 2021 a set
of proposals were developed from the feedback in 2018/19, which
included Permit Parking for residents. However, after further
consultation few residents showed support.
The
proposal therefore seeks to introduce junction protection and
limited waiting to formalise parking on Moss Road outside the
shops, and on Delamere Avenue outside the medical surgery, to deter
inconsiderate and dangerous parking improving visibility for all
road users. No permit parking is included in the proposals. 2 bus
stop clearways are set to be introduced on the East and West side
of Moss Road.
The proposals are shown on
drawing numbers “E9197-01 –
E9197-05” appended to this
report.
