Montague Road, Sale - Proposed Prohibition of Waiting and One Way Traffic Regulation Orders

Purpose

A
planning application was approved in June 2024 (ref 112978/FUL/24)
for the demolition of the existing church and erection of 2 no.
detached dwellings, demolition of parts of the Church Hall and
conversion to 3 no. dwellings with associated parking, access and
landscaping and the retention of the existing dwelling, internal
access and infrastructure.
 
The
new development fronts onto Montague Road, opposite Stamford Place,
which has existing Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm waiting
restrictions on the southerly side. In order
to integrate the new development into the surrounding roads
and maintain road safety it is proposed to introduce No Waiting At
Any Time restrictions along Montague Road, either side of the new
development access road and either side of Stamford Place and to
extend the one way on Montague Road from Marlborough Road to
Stamford Place.
 
The
proposals are shown on drawing number CO00201698-TRO-01 Rev A
appended to this report.

Decision

1.   
That authorisation be given to advertise the
intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Orders as detailed on
drawing number CO00201698-TRO-01 Rev A and detailed in the schedule
and that, if no objections are maintained, the Orders be made and
implemented in whole or in part, as soon as is
practicable. 
 
2.   
That any objections maintained be reported back to
Members for consideration.

Reasons for the decision

It
is recommended that, in the interest of road safety and
accessibility, approval is given to advertise the proposal as shown
on drawing numbered CO00201698-TRO-01 Rev A and as detailed in the
schedules.
