Decision

(1)      
That the designation
of a Mayoral Development Zone known as the Western Gateway
Development Zone (WGDZ), be approved.

 
(2)      
That the proposed area
of the WGDZ, be approved as indicated in Map 1 attached at Appendix
1 to the report.
 
(3)      
That the establishment
of The WGDZ Board be approved and the Chief Executive be given
delegated authority to agree appropriate representation on the
Board in consultation with Salford and the GMCA.
 

(4)      
That the existing
Salford and Trafford Infrastructure Board will act as the shadow
board until the new WGDZ Board gets approval.
 

(5)      
That the Executive
notes that the projects within the proposed WGDZ will aim to
deliver sustainable forms of development that reflect and deliver
the wider GM Strategy and are in line with
the Council’s Corporate Plan priorities.
 

(6)      
That the Executive
endorses the principles of the business case and development
strategy for the MDZ, as set out in paragraphs 5.1-5.2 of the
report, which the WGDZ Board will oversee and bring to the
GMCA, Trafford and Salford for
approval.
