Purpose

Proposal for the introduction of a disabled residents’ permit parking
bay on Sefton Road, Sale which has been legally
advertised.

Following the 21-day statutory consultation in the vicinity of
the proposals, 1 response expressing an objection was received,
albeit it was made anonymously.

The
purpose of this report is to consider the objection received and
the recommendation of the One Stop Resource centre and to seek
approval to implement the restrictions, as advertised.

Decision

1)
That the result of the consultation and the
objection be noted.

2)
That following careful consideration of the
objection and the recommendation of the One Stop Resource centre,
authorisation be given to make and introduce the Traffic Regulation
Order, as advertised, as soon as is practicable.

3)
That it be noted that it is not possible to notify
the objector of the decision taken as they had written in
anonymously.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the necessary permit parking bay to be introduced, to enhance
resident amenity, in the interests of
highway safety and to discourage obstruction of the
highway.

Alternative options considered

Not progressing the permit
parking bay, to which an objection has been raised, would be
detrimental to residents
amenity.
