Purpose

Trafford Council is the
admission authority for community and voluntary controlled schools
and is required to determine the 2027 admission arrangements by 28
February 2026. The arrangements comprise:

admission numbers for community and voluntary controlled
schools
2027 admission
arrangements for Trafford community and voluntary controlled
primary, infant and junior schools
2027 admission
arrangements for Trafford community secondary school (Lostock High
School)
Co-ordinated
admission schemes for primary and secondary

 
The arrangements remain
unchanged from 2026, except for the reduction in the Published
Admission Number (PAN) at two schools:
 

Gorse Hill Primary
School in Stretford from 60 to 45
Moorlands Junior
School in Sale from 90 to 60

Decision

That the Council’s 2027
admission arrangements as proposed in Annex 2 to the report, be
approved.

Reasons for the decision

The recommendations are made in
order:
 

a)     to
enable Trafford Council to meet its duty to provide sufficient
places and to allocate school places within a reasonable distance;
and
 

b)     to
meet the requirements of the School Admissions (Admission
Arrangements and Co-ordination of Admission Arrangements) (England)
Regulations 2012 and the School Admissions Code.
