Full council record

Purpose

Every year the Council awards
an inflationary uplift to the adult social care providers in line
with our statutory responsibility to maintain a stable adult social
care market.

The Council commenced a
consultation exercise on proposals with the adult social care
market from 22 November to 22 December 2023. However, as a result
of the Provisional Local Government Financial settlement, the
Council had to revise its proposals.

Revised proposals have now been
formulated and the Council’s intention is to consult with the
market on the revised proposals in line with its statutory
responsibilities.

Decision

1.
That the revised proposal, as detailed in the report, be
approved.

2.
That the proposal to commence consultation with our adult social
care providers on the revised proposed inflationary uplift for the
next financial year, as detailed in the report, be
approved.

3.
That the urgency provisions in respect of this decision, as
detailed in the report, be noted and the decision be classified as
urgent and exempt from call-in.

4.
That it be noted that a further report will be presented to the
Executive for consideration and determination following the
conclusion of the consultation exercise.
