Amalgamation of Templemoor and Moorland
September 22, 2023 Executive Member for Babies, Children and Young People (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The amalgamation of the two schools was proposed to be achieved
by closing Templemoor Infant School and
simultaneously expanding the age range at Moorlands Junior School.
The reason this method of amalgamation was proposed was because
from September 2023 there was a vacancy in the headship of
Templemoor Infant School. For this
proposal, the Local Authority is the proposer and the
decision-maker.
A
period of consultation on the proposal began on 12 June 2023 and
closed on 23 July 2023. Following analysis of the responses
received during the consultation period.
It is now recommended that
the proposal to amalgamate is withdrawn. This means the schools
will continue as separate Infant and Junior
Schools.
Decision
1.
That the consultation approach, comments and responses be noted.
2.
That the proposal to amalgamate be
withdrawn.
