September 21, 2023 Executive Member for Highways, Environmental, and Traded Services (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The
Council has been contacted by residents concerned with parking at a
number of locations on various roads within the Flixton and Urmston
Area.
The
proposal seeks to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’
and ‘No Waiting or Loading At Any Time’ restrictions to
deter the reported parking issues and to improve pedestrian access
and visibility for all road users.
The
formal advertisement of the proposals was undertaken on 10May 2023
for three weeks where six objections and seven representations
containing other comments and/or support were received.
Having considered the
representations received, approval is sought to introduce the
scheme with minor modifications as shown on drawings E9126-01,
E9126-02 Rev D, E9126-03 Rev A and E9126-05 Rev A.
Decision
1)
That the results of the consultation and objections
received be noted.
2)
That following careful consideration of the
objections and comments received, authorisation be given
to make and introduce the
Traffic Regulation Order as advertised, with minor modifications,
as detailed in the Schedules to the report,
and as shown on drawing numbers E9126-01,
E9126-02 Rev D, E9126-03 Rev A and E9126-05 Rev A, as soon as is
practicable.
3) That the objectors be
informed of the decision made.
Reasons for the decision
To
introduce waiting restrictions, in the interests of highway safety
and to discourage obstruction of the highway.
Alternative options considered
Not progressing the
proposals would be detrimental to road safety and
access.
