Purpose

To seek approval to introduce disabled residents’ permit parking bays on School Road, Stretford and to remove disabled residents’ permit parking bays on School Road and Jackson Street, Stretford.

Decision

1. That the introduction of 2no disabled residents’ permit parking bays on School Road, Stretford be approved.
2. That the removal of disabled residents’ permit parking bays on School Road and Jackson Street, Stretford, be approved.
3. That authorisation be given to advertise the intention of making the Traffic Regulation Order referred to in the schedules to the report and, if no objections are maintained, that the Order be made, in whole or in part, and the proposals implemented.
4. That consultation be carried out with nearby residents.

Reasons for the decision

It is considered that the disabled residents of School Road, Stretford would benefit from the introduction of a disabled residents’ permit parking bay at each location, that would allow their vehicles to be parked close to their houses, at any time, subject to there being a blue badge holder resident at each address.

Requests have been received for the disabled residents’ permit parking bays on School Road and Jackson Street, Stretford that are no longer required to be removed.
