Full council record

Purpose

The
Council has been contacted by residents concerned with
inconsiderate parking on Thorley Lane obscuring visibility for
motorists The issue is always there as people are parking here to
use the airport, leaving their vehicles for days/weeks.

The
proposal seeks to introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time,
restrictions to deter parking issues, to improve visibility and
road safety for all road users.

The
formal consultation took place on 19th June 2023 and 5
objections was received. The main reason for the objections was
that the proposals would move the issue further up the road outside
of the residents’ homes.

Having
considered the objections received, approval is sought to introduce
the scheme as shown on drawing number E9237 and in the schedule
within the report.
