Purpose
For
the Council to deliver a circa 5-unit Temporary Accommodation
scheme in the former GP Surgery, Church Rd, Urmston. This would
include the submission of a planning application and procurement
and award of the build contract for the renovation
works.
This
was in line with the Council’s adopted Homelessness Strategy
and 10 Year Estates Strategy.
Decision
1)
That the current homelessness and temporary
accommodation pressures, be noted.
2)
That the acquisition and redevelopment of the
property to be used as temporary accommodation, subject to
Planning, be approved.
3)
That the delegation of authority to the Corporate
Director, Place to procure a contractor to carry out the
conversions, repairs and improvements as
appropriate, be approved.
4)
That the delegation of authority to the Corporate
Director, Place to negotiate, finalise and agree the terms for the
purchase of properties for the purposes set out in the report, be
approved.
5)
That the delegation of authority to the Director of
Legal and Governance to enter into any
contracts, agreements or deed required to implement the above
recommendations, be approved.
